Then a Supreme Court ruling changed everything, ruling that these athletes could now pursue and profit from NIL deals. As a longtime champion of college sports, Nissan made the first auto campaign to feature a college student. Using Bryce Young's story, their documentary “Being Young” became an educational model for future college athletes navigating NIL deals. The film follows college football superstar Young for a year as he chased the national championship and second Heisman. With interviews from coaches, family members, teammates, and friends, the film puts a close lens on Bryce’s outstanding character on and off the field.

Once the documentary was complete, Nissan wanted to share this successful NIL case study with other college athletes. They first sent the film to influencers in every college division and then partnered with ESPN to release the documentary on their on-air network. The documentary is available to over 25 million subscribers on their ESPN+ streaming service. It has set the standard for NIL deals, inspiring other college athletes to follow in Bryce's footsteps and financially support their future.
